I drew this for halloween (lol happy halloween!) to celebrate that I got a shiny rotom that exact day -(.....And completely forgot to upload it) .......... creepy, i know :O Took about 4000+ SR. BTW, Rotom kinda reminds me of Solosis and some other pokemon :/ mainly because it looks like they're inside bubbles full of some kinda liquid....
This is a very good drawing. It has normal-form Rotom's basic shape while also adding the 'tail' part and the glow around it that looks a bit like a bubble, creating a new form for the pokemon. Since this pokemon normally possesses electronic devices, I would assume that it has taken on a satellite or some kind. However, it looks more like a shooting star, which is very nice. The way that you highlighted it was interesting and makes for a good overall effect. The Rotom is bright and shiny, lighting up the depths of space, and yet the entire drawing, when viewed more closely, looks almost like a painting done by hand. I can see that you used a paintbrush tool to do this, and it looks great. Another thing is the background. The color gives a good feel of outer space by using the deep blue of the night sky. I like the way you used lighter blue and a bit of purple to give the look of Rotom lighting up the area. The white bits around the bottom seem to be sparkles falling from Rotom, further suggesting the idea that it has possessed a shooting star. And, although neither real stars nor meteors actually have this shape, the Rotom actually seems to have a bit of a 'star' shape. Also, the glowing 'tail' and the similar stuff around the Rotom looks a bit like, as I said before, a bubble, or maybe some type of gel. If I look closer, there are two flaws I notice: 1. The lines. I can see that you did it for shading, but perhaps you could blend it a bit more to hide the lines that you make. (What I mean are the lines in the space around Rotom) 2. On the head, where the bit of black shading is in the corner, there is clearly lit 'gel' right outside of it. Therefore, there must be light also coming from that side (or perhaps it's just coming from the viewing angle; that's what it seems like), so there shouldn't be a shadow there. Those are pretty minor, though, especially the second one. Overall, I love this drawing, and I think you are a fantastic artist.
I find this picture to be very interesting visually. I enjoy the calming purples and blues in contrast to the bright white flashes in it. It seems to draw your eyes back to it each time you look away, and I've found this to be a very good effect in art pieces.
Originality:
I find this to be very original. I'd never considered the idea of a Space Rotom before, and whenever I see it it reminds me of a rocket (what with the colours and such.) I find this to be an appealing view, and I've never seen a Rotom quite the same as this one before!
Technique:
I love the style you've used here. Relating back to the effect I mentioned in the Vision section, it really catches my eye. I think that part of this is due to the soft shape of the Rotom's plasma field (whatever that was in the game XD) compared to the sharp bright colours you used to accent it.
Impact:
Each time I look up at this picture again, I seem to find one small detail about it that I hadn't noticed before. Everything from the tiny dashes above the Pokemon to the glowing dots below it... it all falls into place perfectly.
Final Evaluation:
Five stars all around. You've done a wonderful job with this piece, and I commend you for it! Keep up the great work, *DrawerElma!
