Since Aaron was born with Zekroms soul attached to his, he was proclaimed the new hero of chaos. His and Zekroms soul are 2 completely different ones, Aaron is only holding on to Zekroms soul to one day unite it with it's real body. Aaron will take decisions and actions based on both souls preference even if he doesn't realize it. In the legend about the 2 heroes, it's said that "Both the heroes (Reshiram and Zekrom) hearts still beat underneath that cold ice". Since Aaron is carrying around Zekroms soul inside him, he also has inherited Zekrom's powers of lightning. Whenever Aaron wants to use "thunder punch" he puts one paw on his heart and points with one in the air which makes thunder strike down from the sky. Zekrom's heart still beats, even if Aaron's doesn't... Zekrom will send Aaron his strength in order for him to complete his goal, since Zekrom knows how bad betrayal is. Especially if they're close friends...
